Aglaonema Silver Bay

from $26.00

Part of the varying Aglaonema family, also called Chinese Evergreens, Aglaonema Silver Bays are lush, slow-growing plants that have large, elongated oval leaves with silvery feather-shaped designs down the center of each leaf. Tolerant of humid or dry conditions, Silver Bays can survive in very low light, as long as their soil stays relatively damp and the room stays warm. Aglaonemas can be a little bit particular about their temperature, but otherwise, they are easy, luscious plants that will beautify any modern space, dim bedroom, or cozy study. With striking leaf patterns and easy-going personalities, Silver Bays enhance any room and will not outgrow their pot anytime soon.

Perspective Plant Parent: Aglaonema Silver Bays are the perfect choice for beginners, forgetful plant owners, or anyone who has a room or space with less than ideal light conditions.

Difficulty: This plant is as easy as sitting on the dock of a (silver) bay. (Super easy!)

Lighting: Silver Bays have silver centers and lighter variegation, so they thrive in medium indirect light, but being Aglaonemas they can adapt to low light areas. (A tip for all Aglaonemas is the lighter the plant and variegation, the more light it will need.)

Water: Aglaonemas are native to tropical regions of Asia, so they prefer slightly damp, moist soil. This does not mean they like to be soggy, they just don’t want their soil to dry out completely. Water when the top inch of soil is dry. Water moderation is key.

Humidity: Your choice! Spritzing every so often helps keep leaves lush and happy, but it isn’t detrimental to your plant if you don’t.

Temperature: Aglaonemas like to be warm and cozy in temperatures higher than 64 degrees. Look out for vents or windows that could create cold drafts or sudden temperature changes.
