Perspective Plant Parent: Aglaonema Marias are the perfect choice for beginners, forgetful plant owners, or anyone who has a room or space with less than ideal light conditions.

Difficulty: As asked in a plant rendition of Sound of Music, “How do you solve a problem like (Agloneama) Maria?” Our answer: You won’t have a problem because Marias are problem-free plants! (Super easy.)

Lighting: Aglaonema Marias have dark green leaves with stripes of silver variegation, so they can handle darker rooms and corners with low light. (A tip for all Aglaonemas is the lighter the plant and variegation, the more light it will need.)

Water & Temperature: Aglaonemas are native to tropical regions of Asia, so they prefer slightly damp, moist soil. This does not mean they like to be soggy, they just don’t want their soil to dry out completely. Water when the top inch of soil is dry. Water moderation is key.

Humidity: Your choice! Spritzing every so often helps keep leaves lush and happy, but it isn’t detrimental to your plant if you don’t.

Temperature: Aglaonemas do like to be warm and cozy in temperatures higher than 64 degrees. Look out for vents or windows that could create cold drafts.
